Media Sharing

I have a Dell 6400 laptop, 1GB ram, with Vista Home Premium installed.

When I launch Windows Media Player a popup window opens telling me that
media sharing is currently disabled, the share my media box is ticked. When I
check in the network and sharing center media sharing is shown as on. All my
mp3 files are in My Music folder on my laptops c drive.
I disabled UAC but it has not changed the problem.
Can anyone advise me as to what I have to do to get this working?

I share media between my laptop and desktop on wireless configuration.
The problem is with video files that sometime not playing (Media Player
tells me that there was a problem playing the file) and sometimes does like
there isn't a problem

Anyone else tried this ?

Media Sharing

I have a PS3 and if I run Windows Media Player on my Vista Ultimate box I am
able to share the music, pictures, and videos from my PC to my PS3 just fine
(got that configured, no questions there...) The issue is in order for this
sharing to work I have to be logged in and running Windows Media Player
which is rather annoying. Is there some way just to share the media as a
windows service or something so that it runs independent of any single users
instance of media player and doesn't require someone to be logged in to
work? I'm sure there are 3rd party apps that do this but I'm curious if
there is some capability in Vista for this that I may have overlooked.
