media update prompt, virus?

Posted: 01-14-2004, 12:59 AM
I was prompted for a new Windows Media Update and since I
had ignored it for a few months now I decided I would try
it out. After the update took place and the following
reboot of my computer my explorer.exe quit working. If I
click an icon on my desktop, whether it be a random folder
of the My Computer icon I get the same error
that "Internet Explorer has encountered problems and needs
to close" followed by an error message that states if the
problem continues to restart the pc. I was wondering if
anyone else has had this problem? Any input would be
appreciated. Thanks
