Medieval Total War 2

Hi

When I go to play Medieval Total War 2 I click on the icon , the round
windows circle things turns as if it is about to do something then nothing.
About 2 minutes later the game loads up.

All the time there is disk activity.
I have 2 Gb Ram and a 320Mb graphics card.

Any clues to why the delay in starting?
