Default Messenger 6.1 & Logitech Quickcam webcam problems

I'm running windows xp pro, athlon 750 t-bird, 896mb ram, ATI Rage vid card
with Logitech Quickcam Messenger.

Seems that everytime I try to either start a webcam conversation or change
webcam settings in Messenger, the entire Messenger program freezes up. I
can't even kill the process, and must to a hard reset to clear the "not
responding" messenger window.

I have done all the updates for the Logitech Quickcam software, Ati Rage Vid
drivers and all the windows updates for win xp pro.

Any help would be good. i'm thinking it might just be the Video card.

Thanks,

Troy

I remember someone called MagnetBoy with a Quickcam having probs with the
quickcam 8.1.1 driver
I'm still using 7.3.0 and it's fine. What driver are you on?

Greetings Troy,

You may just need to select the Logitech QuickCam in the Audio/Video Tuning wizard *first*.
To do so, click the Tools menu in any Messenger window, then click Audio/Video Tuning Wizard,
and then follow the wizard to select your camera and test it.
