Mic Volume wont stay put!

I recently purchased a TV card for my pc. It runs sound
through the mic input on my motherboard. The volume
control automatically sets the mic volume all the way
down. When I turn it up it works fine, but if I shut off
the program for the tv card, the volume returns back to
zero. I want this to stay all the way up all the time.
How can I change it?

Check for updates drivers from the card manufacturer fiorst.
