win XP. I have a dual boot system and the same card and
mike work fine in Win 98. In Win XP I have the drivers
installed by XP. The card is an Ensoniq. I have exactly
the same problem with a second computer, also double boot
with Win ME, also an Ensoniq card. Msg comes up saying
Windows cannot execute Dpvsetup.exe and asks to install
from Control panel. Several copies of Dpvsetup.exe are
on the hard disk. Knowledge base art Q282882 says to
move the acceleration sliders to the right but that does
not do a thing. Another person has the same problem (see
Hardware news group for 8/22)

Is it plugged in? if so, maybe it is muted or has a low
volume, check under your main volume controls. I hope this

I am wondering why when i plug in my micophone to my
computer,i can hear myself through my computer speakers,
i was having a audio conversation on msn messenger, and i
can hear my self talking through my speakers.

If you don't want to hear yourself like that, go to the
sound properties and click mute on the microphone sound
and then go to the advanced properties and uncheck the mic
boost. To get to the sound properties, go to the bottom
right hand side of the screen, by the clock, and double-
click on the little spearker(sound properties pop up).

I have tested mic,ok,been thru mic wizard to set
up,ok,but cant configure to work while
using'singtotheworld' online karaoke .can anyone help ?

Try this:
Double-click on the speaker icon in the taskbar at the
bottom.
In the window that pops up click on the options menu,
then go to properties.
Under "Adjust volume for" choose "recording". Then in the
area at the bottom that says "Show the following volume
controls" make sure that Microphone is ticked. Then click
OK.
Now, look at the microphone volume and make sure that the
box that says selected next to it is ticked and that the
microphone volume is not all the way down. then close the
window and try again.

most times, just plug it in and your pc will see it.
