Microsoft intellimouse explorer

Posted: 02-23-2004, 05:18 AM
The hardware (mouse) comes with a software
called "Microsoft Intellipoint 5.0" which cannot be
installed on my XP because it "has not passed windows
logo testing. It may impair or destabilize the correct
operation ......" I went to knowledge base article 834840
which supposedly has a patch for this problem - wouldn't
you know it does not work. Still the message as above!
What does not work are the additional buttons on the
mouse for which I bought the mouse in the first place. It
is inconceivable for me that a product which bears the
microsoft name is not compatible with microsoft! Any help
is greatly appreciated.
