| Posted in microsoft.public.money http://www.microsoft.com/communities...sloc=en-us&p=5 Details from this post: I have Vista Ultimate 64 and setup money to work in two different (user) accounts. The money file is stored in one of the accounts documents area and I have shared this area and in the other account mapped a drive to the location. This has worked perfectly for 9 months. We upgraded to money plus in September and have also not had any problems. Well starting at the end of December my shared account has started to have problems. For some reason the file crashes will get the same error: "MS Money has encountered a problem and needs to close. We appologize for the inconvenience" Or sometimes I get this visual c++ error (this is from memory). the other thing the account experiences is they will add transaction and it doesn't show in money in the register. If I search the register I can find the transaction but it still doesn't show. The first time this transaction experience happen I also could find it in the other account but wouldn't show in register either. So I ran a repair on the file. fixed some issues and all of a sudden these transactions where now gone. Could not search them anymore. So added them back in and they went in the register. Well about 3 days later it is happening again. I am a bit concerned with the date thing (vista updates installed) as it was ROUGHLY around this time the first account started having the errors and transaction issues. The other account does not have these issues except for seeing the data issues performed by the first user. ------------------------------------------------------------------- I believe this is a rights issue to a file. Although the share is full access. When the user adds any transactions through money the database is never updated when access via the share. The file acts like it is in READ only mode kind of but when I look at security it shows the user has complete rights to the files in the share and even the specific file in question. See these jpgs for information: There has been an error reading or writing the file. http://www.jamielawson.com/personal/...ransaction.jpg Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! | This is not a network share issue so please refer back to microsoft.public.money for information on this topic. "Jamie" <Jlawson01@OMITTHIS.lear.com> wrote in message news:uboQL$6VIHA.2268@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... Quote:
