Minimising XP

You can probably save a little space here and there, but it will
never be more than a stopgap measure. Ultimately (and sooner
rather than than later) you will have to face the fact that your
drive is *tiny* by today's standards and really not suited for
running today's operating systems.

The only real solution to your problem is to buy a larger drive.
Fortunately, drive prices are very low right now, and you can buy
a 40GB drive for something around $50 US.

And by the way, your problem is exacerbated by having two
partitions on such a small drive. If you keep it for any length
of time, you might want to consider repartitioning it as a single
drive.
