Minolta QMS 2300 install - install again - install again ...

I have a WinXP system and a Minolta Magicolor 2300 color
laser printer on USB. It took multiple tries to get it
properly installed, but now it works perfectly.
Unfortunately, every time I boot up, WinXP says "New USB
device detected, magicolor 2300." It then asks for a
driver disk. If I try to use the install CD to supply the
driver (which is already on the system), the system locks
up. So I'm stuck "escape" ing on every boot.

How can I get rid of this?

It is either trying to tell you that it is not installed correctly or that
its Plug and Play is not working correctly.

Either COMPLETELY uninstall and reinstall as per
