Missing In Action

Posted: 07-02-2004, 01:39 PM
I recently lost everything and had to start from scratch
by reinstalling XP. Since that time there are certain
graphics that won't appear when I'm surfing, specifically
some scrolling texts and effects apalettes. Someone
suggested downloading Javascipt which I did but it did
not fix the problem. Any other suggestions? Thanks ...

Is it Macromedia that is needed?

That would D/L when you visited a site requiring it to load all the
graphics. It would prompt you to do this.

Thanks but don't think it is macromedia. I'll give you a
couple of examples and maybe you can help further. If
you look at the website www.dressmenow.com, the scroll
under Special Features won't come up on my pc nor does
the main graphic in the center top of
www.clipperfish.com. They will on my other computers -
just not on mine. What do you think I can do?

Thanks ... Barry

It is Java. Get JRE from Sun's site...
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html

You only need the RunTime Environment

Thomas, I'm having similar trouble with an XP machine. (see my post a
http://tinyurl.com/28gdo). For example, the graphic at the top left o
www.LaborMetrix.com does not display, and furthermore, *the <img sr
...> code that should call it does not even appear in the listing whe
I try 'View Source' on that machine*. I'm baffled. If you suppos
Java to be at issue here too, can you explain the relationship? O
direct me to another solution? Thank you very much.

Sorry, I know next to nothing about web-creating, so can't help on that.

The graphic in the upper left says only LaborMetrix and points at itself
page of it, ie. www.labormetrix.com/index.htm
