MISSING "D" DRIVE/PARTITION IN XP.

Posted: 02-05-2009, 10:08 AM

Hi,

I recently had a virus/error message problem, which I posted, on this site.
Eventually I used the Recovery Disk supplied with the computer to restore it
to Factory Settings.

After completing the process I ended up with “D” rather than “C” as my
Default Drive, which obviously presented problems. After further assistance
from this site I again used the Recovery Disk to return “C” to my Default
Drive.

However, I then ended up without a “D” drive/partition.

My computer is now working fine but what I would like to know now is:-

(a) Do I actually need a “D” drive/partition given that I have a Recovery
Disk and an Applications and Support Disk?

(b) If I do, how do I go about creating a “D” drive/partition?

(c) Which information do I need to store in the partition?

(d) Where do I transfer that information from?

Thank you in advance for any help.

Maragret
