Missing files in .INF

Posted: 02-21-2008, 10:55 PM
Hello,

I have an Intel 945GM graphics chip on my XPe target. I am running my XPe
development tools on another computer. I use Component Designer to import the
..inf file so I can create a iegd.sld file (for the 945GM chipset). I then use
Component Database Manager to all import the .sld file and add the graphics
driver (iegd) to the repository. When I use Target Designer to add in my
945GM chipset to my configuration it tells me that all the files that were
referenced in my original .inf file are missing (like all the .sys files).
So, of course I get a lot of erros during the build because of missing files.
I imagine I must have missed a step. It does not know where the files are. Do
I need to install the driver on the Host computer first? What if the host
computer does not haev a 945GM chipset on it.

How do I import a .inf file into the Component Database when the driver is
not already installed? Can I do that? How will it know where the files are?

Thanks,
Todd

In Component Designer, did you create a repository, pont the repository path
to the folder with the files, and link the repository to the component?

Take a look at some video driver examples found here:
