Missing shadows under menus

Posted: 04-22-2004, 08:28 AM
Hello,

in my windows XP installation I have the problem, that the shadows under the
menus are not shown.
The option to show the shadows is enabled in the system settings. It cannot
be a hardware problem because the shadows are shown in programs like Word
which draw the shadows independen from the system settings. Only the shadows
in the explorer / outlook express etc. windows are missing.

Does anybody know a solution?

Thanks in advance

André

Did you perhaps change the color of either the toolbar or font to where you
can't see the shadow? Have you disabled the Searched word being highlite in
blue?

Check your RGB's here: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Colors or use the
script on line 217 (right hand side):

No, all colors do have default values. I compared them with Users .DEFAULT.
So the problem is still there: When I open an explorer windows the shadows
are not shown under the standard menus. However under the favorites menu
(which is infact an owner draw menu as far as I know) the shadow is shown.
Strange.

Thanks for your infos.

André

I wouldn't worry about it it slows the system way down
anyway when it is enabled. If you must have it right
click my computer clicl advanced/performance and tick the
option for shadows under menus on.
