missing wintrust.dll

Posted: 02-07-2004, 03:16 PM
I always get an error when opening an Acrobat form, so I tried to reinstall/download Acrobat. It couldn't complete because my wintrust.dll file is missing. Any suggestions on how to retrieve it, or anything? Thanks

Hi Clift,

Expand a new copy. Start/run msconfig, click on "expand file" (general tab)

File to expand: wintrust.dll
From: X:\I386
To: %windir%\system32

Where X is whatever letter is assigned your CD drive (you need your WinXP CD
for this), change it accordingly. If your system was preinstalled, you may
find this instead on the hard drive under C:\Windows\I386. If so, change the
"from" line accordingly. Reboot when finished.

Additionally, you may be able to just copy WINTRUST.DLL from the Windows\System32\dllcache folder (hidden) to the Windows\System32 folder.
