Make sure that the Wireless Zero Configuration service is running:

1. Right click My Computer, and click Manage.
2. Double click Services and Applications.
3. Double click Services.
4. Double click Wireless Zero Configuration. If the Service status is
Stopped, click Start.
5. Set the Startup type to Automatic.

missing wireless networks tab on WinXPpro

Check to see whether the "Wireless Zero Configuration" is
enabled - you will need to set it as "Automatic" and
reboot. You will find it under "Computer Management" -
"Services" - Right Click My Computer and click "manage"
Once there click Services and Applications then Services -
scroll down to Wireless Zero Configuration and make the
necessary setting.

Thanks for the heads up!
I thought I had that Service on already but apparently I
didn't! Is there a tool, utility, driver or some SW in
general that you know of that might turn this service off
when you install it? The reason I'm asking is that I can
almost swear that I checked that service when I first
installed XP on this machine and it was on... I wonder if
Toshiba's own ConfigFree utility does that?
Anyway, thanks again for the reminder...
