mixing with recorder

The sound recorder will not record, insert or mix windows
media audio files - the recorder works only with wave
files.

Can I convert WMA files back to WAV files?

which third party software program would do it if I can't
do it without another program?

Try CDex http://www.cdex.n3.net/ If it doesn't support, try RealOne Player or
Goldwave.
