MM shuts down

i am using new "Logitech" web cam and software - its
saves the files in .AVI format. I am able to import the
file to movie maker and play - everything looks fine
until i drop the file down to the story board.

when i try to save it from the storyboard MM just shuts
it self down and wants to send error report to microsoft.

the movies themselves look fine, window media player has
no problem playing them, and the movie player within
Movie Maker seems quite content to play movie. The
problem seems to lie when the movie is dropped down to
story board.

any help would be appreciated

Hi there,

Then I suggest that you go take a look at www.papajohn.org and look at
acceleration and codecs, and if you have not done so already you might want
to consider installing version 9 of windows Media Player (It also has
codecs)
