MM1/Sony TRV22 DVCam/audio capture message

I am operating WinXP Media Edition that came with MM1. I also have a Sony
TRV22 DVCam that I am trying to capture from. I continue to get the
message, "There is a problem with the audio capture. Check that the device
is config properly..."

I am new at this and have captured (all from the DV Cam)/edited/burned
several DVD's this past week, trying to get it right. Everyone I have made
is terrible quality. I've tried Arcsoft Showbiz/MyDVD, Dazzle Movie Star 5,
Pixela Image Mixer (came with camcorder) and they have all been grainy or
sluggish when burned.

Now I am trying MM1 and I don't understand why this program is giving me
this glitch.
