MM2 causes DMA to stop working

problems with NEO DVD in that it would not produce audio
on the DVD. After hours of working with the
manufacturer, I finally had to do a system repair
reinstall of th XP operating system.
Ta Da, every thing is working correctly again until I
start to use MM2 and it has just shut down the DMA and
thus I am back to no sound on my DVD. The loss of DMA
can produce all sorts of problems which present
themselves in a variety of ways, such as mini freezes in
the response to mouse activity.
Does anyone know what the problem is. I didn't have this
problem with MM1.
One of the articles which microsoft directed me to
suggested that the build up of errors can be indicative
of a catastrophic system failure.
I would prefer not to have to do a system repair after
making a few short home movies.
Keep in mind that this is after finding allabout how to
restart DMA and the realization that it could not be done
in all the various ways I was told with the ultimate
result being that the manufacturer had me to do the
repair reinstall.
