MM2 closing

Ever since I installed SP2 MM2 keeps closing for no
reason.

The error code is
Event type BEX
P1 Moviemaker
P2 20.331
P3 3e038613
P4 comctl32.dll----which I looked up and it doesn't seem
to be needed for Windows XP
P5- 6.0.2900.2180
P6 4110968c
P7 0004e183
P8 c0000409
P9 -0000000

This means greek to me but it is the same error message
that shows up, over and over and over again so it must
mean something to someone. How can I find out what the
issue is.
I tried changing the acceleration as per Papa John's
website and can not find any .ax files so what else could
there be? It really only became bad after that SP2. Can
I unistall it--I've tried to system restore and it won't
go back. Helllllllp!

I once read a comic that explained the meaning of this type of error
messages. A tech supporter asks the programmer what this specific error
message means; the programmer takes one look at the output and says, "Oh,
that's my groccery list."

I have no idea what's causing this. Have you tried some of the solutions in
the Problem Solving -> MM2 will not install page of PapaJohn's site as well?
I've picked up a random idea there, but we'll experiment with it if all else
fails.

Idea: Create a 2nd user for the system, restarting, logging as that 2nd
user, and trying MM2. I think it won't help, but it's Microsoft.

There's a new version of COMCTL32.DLL that came with XP2.... it's dated
8/4/04. Check the file in your Windows\system32 folder and be sure it's that
date.

If it's not, move it to another folder and it'll be replaced automatically
within a couple seconds by a new copy.... be sure it's the 8/4 one.... if
it's not automatically replaced, move it back into the folder.
