mm2 crashes when applying effects or transitions

does anybody know how to fix the program crash when trying
to use effects or transitions. my friend has a similar
computer and it works just fine on his machine. i am
working on a major project and would be overjoyed for a
remedy. thanks a lot!

mm2 crashes when applying effects or transitions

I'm experiencing exactly the same problem. When I click
on a video transition, MM2 immediately closes and sends
me back to the desk top. I've seen MM2 work fine on a
friends PC, but not on mine. I desperately need to solve
this problem. Any ideas?
