Modem Restarts computer

Hi, I have recently formatted and installed windows 98 on
my computer which is a few years old (150mhz) and
everything has gone on ok apart from the modem.
Its installed the drivers etc and recognises it but when I
try to dialup it restarts my computer. Also when I try to
look at the more info part on the modem it restarts then
too.
What causes this? and what can i do to try and resolve it.

Get and install the correct and latest drivers for the modem.

Modem Restarts computer

Chris,
I am having a similar problem. I already have a
computer with XP on it. I just installed a US Robotics
modem into one of my PCI slots and it works fine except
when I try to shut down windows the PC reboots itself and
starts up again. I have to push the button to make the PC
shut down. If you figure out your problem it might help
me too.
