Default Motherboard/Processor upgrade

I plan to upgrade my Processor & Mobo. It may mean that I will re-install
Vista. Will I have any problems when it comes to registration? I've already
registered using my old specs.

Default Re: Motherboard/Processor upgrade

If your Vista disk is an OEM from a major maker (i.e. Dell) and your mother
board is not a new one from same maker, you may have problems.
My disk says 'For distribution only with a new Dell PC."

If you have a retail boxed version there should be no problem.

If you have a OEM version from a white box supplier (i.e. your local PC
shop) you PROBABLY won't have a problem.

If your disk is an upgrade there are complications, basically it will want
you to install the previous version first, then upgrade. I understand that
there a workaround for this so if that is your case get back and someone
with experience doing that will provide guidance.

Retail: *may* have no problems. However, MB, CPU and memory change at once
will almost garantee a call to MS for reactivation. (and every time you
re-install thereafter....)
