not sure this message can be posted here... but want to build a new machine
for XP and was wondering which motherboard to buy (at least circle it down
to a couple of providers).
Any hint where to look?

TIA

You must decide what CPU you want to use, then find mobo
that support that CPU (or family of CPUs). You then decide
what you want the mobo to support, such as Firewire, SATA,
USB 2.0, Gigabit LAN, RAID, PCI Express, and pick a price
range.

You can find reviews in magazine such as Computer Shopper
and on Tom's Hardware
see http://shopper.cnet.com/ http://www.tomshardware.com
also www.pcworld.com

Think about future upgrades, if you buy the wrong mobo, any
worthwhile upgrade will require a new mobo. Get a board
with enough slots so you can add components.
