Mouse &/or key board Freezing

My computer keeps freezing. Sometimes it's the mouse,
other times the key board, and lately both!
This is one of the error message that I found in my log:

I did download a trial version of Internet washer Pro and
removed it, however I keep seeing popups and when doing a
search in my files & folders, I still see it the program.
***Also I downloaded the Windows XP service pack 1. My
installation history shows that on August 14, 2003 the
status is "IN PROGRES" and then I see that on Tuesday Sept
30,2003, the status shows "SUCCESSFUL".****


I have tried to run a restore but am told that the restore
was unsuccessful and no changes were made.


Can anyone help me sort through this mess?
