Mouse Defaults when Running as Admin

Posted: 11-25-2008, 08:13 PM
Hi

I am runnig Windows Vista Enterprise and I have an intellimouse optical. I
have the two side buttons set up as cut and paste. When I run an application
as administrator, the side buttons do not seem to do anything.

What do I need to do to set the button actions for admin?

When you run as administrator, you are actually running as a different user.
You could run the mouse configuration software as administrator and set up
your preferences from there.

Thanks Malke

I have tried that, but it made no difference. I have even reinstalled the
mouse drivers by uninstalling then running the mouse driver exe as admin and
no luck.

Then I guess you have to live with it. Generally you only run a specific
task as administrator for a limited time, so it shouldn't be too onerous to
use Ctrl-C, etc. for a little while.

Sorry I was unable to help you.

Hi,

As Malke has indicated, when you do that you are actually invoking a
different user account. You need to actually log in to that user account and
change configuration setttings for the mouse.
