Movie Maker 2 with DVD when saving as a movie

Posted: 01-16-2006, 04:38 AM
I've been reading today and at the Microsoft website it looks to me like if
you have Movie Maker 2 and you download SP2 you should have, when doing that
downloaded the ability to save as a file for a DVD. I have Windows XP Media
Center with Movie Maker and SP2 and I don't have this option. I can't seem to
find out where to download that. I have downloaded all the updates they have
for my computer.

Thanks, Oceana

AFAIK upgrading to SP2 even with a Media Center PC will not get you the Save
to DVD option. It is only with new Media Center PC's that are preloaded with
SP2. As I said I am not 100% sure of that but I am fairly certain. Also
using the Save to DVD option tends to create a lot of coasters instead of
DVD's so it isn't the greatest feature in the world to begin with.

right... the DVD burning option is added by the computer manufacturer, not
by Microsoft.... it's a plug-in, not a core Movie Maker software module.

Sorry I know you for whatever reason really want that feature but it just
isn't going to happen.
