What is stored in the profile on the old computer? Usually this question
pertains to the desktop and the IE favorites. Those folders can simply be
copied from one profile to another. User data files and settings can be
more problematic, but you could also use the File and Settings Transfer
Wizard.

You could tell the server, in the AD, that this user now has a roaming
profile. When the user next logs off, the profile copies up the server,
when the user shifts, it comes down to the final location.

in the profile location, (after creating a folder in the server and
sharing as profiles$) I point profiles to \\server\profiles$\%username%
