MP3 CD

I can successfully burn a 700mb MP3 CD using XP. However
after the first 20 or so tracks, the songs have
occaisional blips of distortion, which become more
frequent on the later songs. I am using Imation 700mb 52x
CD-Rs and an Artec CD-Rewriter. I am burning at 52x. Also
occaisionally, the CD begins to write, then suddenly
jumps to the end, and the generic XP not really
helpful "CD couldn't be burned message" pops up. Any help
on either matter is extremely appreciated
