MP3 Player -- can i use WMP to transfer MP3s?

WMP detects by MP3 player, but when it copies every song comes up with
an error.

Does WMP convert everything to WMA format before transferring? If so,
I suspect this might be the problem. Is there any way to use it to
transfer MP3s?
