MSCONFIG is not accessable

Posted: 06-06-2006, 05:16 PM
When I try to bring up my MSCONFIG.exe program, Windows is giving me an error
message and telling me the program cannot be found. The same thing happens
when I try to bring up SYSEDIT.

How can I access and reactivate either of these applications?

I am running Windows XP Home with SP 2 installed on a Pentium 4, 1.5 GHz
machine.

Thank you!

They are located in the C:\Windows\System32 folder. You can restore
missing or corrupted files by running the System File Checker program.

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=310747

You have be logged on as administrator to run those utilities but
"program cannot be found" is not the error that you would receive.

Thanks for your responses and your help. I'll try running the System Checker
application to see if that fixes the issues. If it does, I'll log back in and
let you know.

Thanks.
