Re: "MSDV.sys" fix for Canon MV20 Scrambled Capture with SP2

Posted: 07-09-2005, 11:12 PM

I too had the same problem of having a badly pixilated image from m
Canon DV20 via IEEE1394a Firewire with Microsoft Windows XP Pro an
SP2. I contacted my PC vendor who advised me to update my motherboar
bios. This had no effect. Then he advised me to update my firewir
driver from the Microsoft Knowledge base using the link below.

http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;885222

This had no effect.

Then he had me update the driver for the Canon DV camera from th
Microsoft Knowledge base using the link below.

http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;893008

This worked, yipee. Apparantly the driver from within XP does no
allow the format to be changed from NTSC to PAL. Even though you selec
PAL in your settings it still remains in NTSC format
