Jeff;There are a bunch of fixes. They did not work for me. Try this until
something else comes along: Start/Run/type or copy and paste: "msinfo32
/showcategories" (without the quotes) /OK.

I appreciate your time Wesley. With your guidence I cannow force it to open properly, however I have not found
how to correct the problem. I'll be sure to post here when

Jeff;I hope you find a cure. I did not. Thanks to Doug Knox and Kelly Theriot
many things on my XP computer actually work. I put a shortcut to
msinfo_force_run.bat
in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users & Me\Start
Menu\Programs\Accessories\System Tools\msinfo_force_run.bat
