| I'm having trouble installing MSN Messenger on a Windows XP Pro SP2 machine. Windows Messenger 5 will install/uninstall without problem. I suspect I have a problem with publishing assemblies during SxS installation in general... any help will be appreciated The error I receive (from the MSI log file) is: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersi on\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18 \Products\C838BEBA7A1AD5C47B1EB83441061073\Patches 3: 2 MSI (s) (A8:C8) [16:36:36:128]: Executing op: RegisterPatchOrder(Continue=0,SequenceType=1,Remov e=0) MSI (s) (A8:C8) [16:36:36:128]: Note: 1: 1402 2: UNKNOWN\Products\C838BEBA7A1AD5C47B1EB83441061073\ Patches 3: 2 MSI (s) (A8:C8) [16:36:36:128]: Executing op: ProductPublish(PackageKey={68340736-17D0-4ACA-AB16- 9CF2FD600137}) 1: {ABEB838C-A1A7-4C5D-B7E1-8B4314600137} MSI (s) (A8:C8) [16:36:36:128]: Note: 1: 1402 2: UNKNOWN\Installer\Products\C838BEBA7A1AD5C47B1EB83 44106107 3 3: 2 MSI (s) (A8:C8) [16:36:36:128]: Note: 1: 1402 2: UNKNOWN\Installer\Products\C838BEBA7A1AD5C47B1EB83 44106107 3 3: 2 MSI (s) (A8:C8) [16:36:36:128]: Note: 1: 1402 2: UNKNOWN\Installer\Products\C838BEBA7A1AD5C47B1EB83 44106107 3 3: 2 MSI (s) (A8:C8) [16:36:36:128]: Note: 1: 1402 2: UNKNOWN\Installer\Products\C838BEBA7A1AD5C47B1EB83 44106107 3 3: 2 MSI (s) (A8:C8) [16:36:36:128]: Note: 1: 1402 2: UNKNOWN\Installer\Products\C838BEBA7A1AD5C47B1EB83 44106107 3 3: 2 MSI (s) (A8:C8) [16:36:36:128]: Note: 1: 1402 2: UNKNOWN\Installer\Products\C838BEBA7A1AD5C47B1EB83 44106107 3 3: 2 MSI (s) (A8:C8) [16:36:36:128]: Note: 1: 1402 2: UNKNOWN\Installer\Products\C838BEBA7A1AD5C47B1EB83 44106107 3 3: 2 MSI (s) (A8:C8) [16:36:36:128]: Note: 1: 1402 2: UNKNOWN\Installer\Products\C838BEBA7A1AD5C47B1EB83 44106107 3 3: 2 MSI (s) (A8:C8) [16:36:36:128]: Note: 1: 1402 2: UNKNOWN\Installer\Products\C838BEBA7A1AD5C47B1EB83 44106107 3 3: 2 MSI (s) (A8:C8) [16:36:36:128]: Note: 1: 1402 2: UNKNOWN\Installer\Products\C838BEBA7A1AD5C47B1EB83 44106107 3 3: 2 MSI (s) (A8:C8) [16:36:36:159]: Executing op: UpgradeCodePublish(UpgradeCode={A26D7C8B-875D-48E2-BED1- 7168268D022A}) MSI (s) (A8:C8) [16:36:36:159]: Executing op: SourceListPublish(,,,,NumberOfDisks=1) MSI (s) (A8:C8) [16:36:36:159]: Note: 1: 1402 2: UNKNOWN\Installer\Products\C838BEBA7A1AD5C47B1EB83 44106107 3\SourceList 3: 2 MSI (s) (A8:C8) [16:36:36:159]: Executing op: ProductPublishClient(,,) MSI (s) (A8:C8) [16:36:36:159]: Executing op: SourceListRegisterLastUsed(SourceProduct={ABEB838C-A1A7- 4C5D-B7E1-8B4314600137},LastUsedSource=C:\DOCUME~1 \CHIEFM~1.TIM\LOCALS~1\Temp\IXP000.TMP\) MSI (s) (A8:C8) [16:36:36:159]: Entering CMsiConfigurationManager::SetLastUsedSource.
