| hi there, xp pro with sp3 deployed for plenty of days, it run so smooth until yesterday, i can't remember what other action triggered it, all in a sudden "my documents" icon gone from desktop, i tried display properties > desktop items to make sure "my documents" checkbox is ticked, i tried unticked & re-ticked it, didn't help on the other hand, if i opened notepad or wordpad, i can't find "my documents" folder as well, however there is a folder without name which should be "my documents" as i can verify the contents there to make sure any suggestion to fix it? many thx! | Guest

| hi vastmasd, from windows explorer left hand side "folders" column, i couldn't find "my documents" there, the folder structure there as follows: desktop |- my computer |- my network places |- recycle bin |- other existing folders on desktop Vastmasd wrote: Quote:

When you mentioned that Wordpad and Notepad couldn't find it I crossed my fingers but now I hope you have a backup. I always partition my Windows computer. I allocate 10GB to my C: drive and move "My Documents" to D: drive and also save any downloads on D: drive.
