My Windows XP is broken. Can someone tell me what I should do?

I will try uninstalling PC-Anywhere.

I can't uninstall the printer. As I said before... Everything printer
related hangs what ever you are doing. To uninstall the printer I would
click:

Start
then
Settings
then
Printers and Faxes

But.. As soon as I click that menu entry the menu system hangs. Two levels
of Start menu become frozen open on my screen. Clicking doesn't do anything.
They stay frozen until I do a restart. It is really weird.

You might search on Restore. Restore helped me once when I accidently messed
up communications. Restore will let you restore your system to a previous
date. However you may lose some data.

Shouldn't do - restore does not affect the users data folders.....

Hi,

Can you go into the administrative tools under Processes, stop the
spoolsv.exe process and then restart it?
Check in your Help and Support window under XP (Start/Help and Support) and
then type in spoolsv.exe to see what turns up. Editing the registry can be a
bit tricky, so be careful if you decide to do the following procedure.

SYMPTOMS
If you open the Printers window or attempt to print from any program,
you may receive one of the following error messages:

Spoolsv.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows.

Printer operation cannot continue due to lack of resources.

Subsystem unavailable.
CAUSE
This issue can occur if a printer driver that is installed on the
computer is damaged.
RESOLUTION
WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious
problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft
cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry
Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

To resolve this issue, remove printers and printer drivers, and then
delete the items that are under certain keys in the registry. Follow these
steps:
1.. If possible, remove any printers that are listed in the Printers
window.

To remove a printer, right-click the printer in the Printers window,
click Delete, and then click Yes to confirm the deletion.
2.. In the Printers window, on the File menu, click Server
Properties.
3.. On the Drivers tab, remove all of the installed printer drivers.

To remove a printer driver, click the driver, click Remove, and then
click Yes to confirm.
4.. Start Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).
5.. Export the following registry keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Print

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Pr int

6.. Delete any items that are listed under the following keys (do

no-no! You don't crosspost. I think you need to reinstall the printer.
I also would get rid of PC Anywhere if you are not using it. And I
don't let any program automatically download upgrades. Since in many
cases they aren't necessary. And sometimes the upgrades are pulled
because they found a problem. And then what do you do? :-)

Try to uninstall PC Anywhere from Safe Mode.
