| well here it goes i had a problem with my computer and i had to reinstall windows but the thing is i had to buy a new windows because my computer didnt come with a reboot disc but when i installed windows everything is fine but i cant hear any sound from my speakers i have checked everything in the sound properties but i think its not recogniziing the sound card the sound is built into the motherboard just incase it isnt a separate card if you know what i mean i had another sound card and i installed it properly but i still cant hear the sound what can it be im really lost if you can i need this to be answered as quick as possible thank you | Guest

| I had the same problem and the recommended fix was to replace my burner. This has happened once before, my burner went out and reaked havic on mile files and certain applications. I haven't replaced my burner yet but I'll let you know if that's the fix. "juice" wrote: Quote:

If the sound card/chip is on the motherboard and it's not recognized directly by the O/S you installed, you need to get the drivers from the motherboard manufacturer's website, assuming you don't have the CD that should have come with the motherboard. To check: Open Control Panel, go to System and then find Device Manager. Look for an item under Other Devices named something like Multimedia Device with a question mark or exclamation point icon. That indicates a device was found but no drivers were available. If located, right-click on the icon and select Update Driver. | Guest
