need a linux anti virus/trojan scanner that scans for linux and windows
virus/trojan/worms and possibly spy tools. Cost... nice if it ranges around
the $50.00 or less range. But willing to check others out as long as they
have all the features. For a single desktop running Linux Mandrake 9.1

: I'd like to check to make sure any files I'm sending and receiving from
work with windows and Linux users aren't infected and That I don't send
infected files/emails to other people such as when forwarding work or
projects from a home computer. I am looking for a replacment to the RAV
anti virus for Linux.

Linux is not affected by those Microsoft problems. Don't send any
attachments and you cannot send any such things. Whether you receive them
or not is irrelevant since your Linux system is immune.

RAV is for use on Linux mail servers with Windows clients, not Linux
clients.

At work... A nice selection of Linux and Windows boxes. Attachments are a

The set up is nice, and it works.

Microsoft has basically said that there will be no further development
of RAV for Linux. See: http://www.vnunet.com/News/1141750

You just don't know how much that s****. M$ knew exactly what they was
doing when they bought them out. I know people that use that software for
their Linux/Windows boxes. Now they are in a frenzy scramble trying to find
as good as can be replacement. Mean While back at M$ headquarters Bill
Gates is probably beaming with joy because he took out Linux's main AV
program for servers/desktops. There are a lot of people I know who are so
p***** right now. Why wont businesses learn not to let them Bs buy those
programs? What a waste. Shame on RAV. No wonder they kept it quiet.

Hi,

I did a quick search in google for the term "personal linux anti-virus
software" and found the below, I don't know how good any of this stuff is
because I just did a quick search.

http://www.f-prot.com/download/
http://esd.element5.com/product.html...anguageid=1&cu
rrencies=USD,EURO&reseller=548
http://www.bitdefender.com/index.php?tab=2

I also did a google search on "linux antivirus gpl" and found a ton more
stuff that I haven't bothered to list.

Kind Regards,
Anthony Irwin
