Network 'Hang' every minute

Posted: 11-28-2006, 06:54 PM
Hi,
I'm experiencing a network hang/pause every 60 seconds on my wireless
network. I can observe this by running ping against my rounter (-t) and once
every 60 seconds the reply takes between 1000ms to 3000ms. This effect is
limited to my wirelss adapter, as I've tested the lan card to the same router
without an issue. Everything else works fine, and this is really only an
issue during activities that are sensitve to latency. Since I have not been
able to find a Vista driver for the Linksys, I manually installed the driver
for XP. Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Setup:
Vista Ultimate RTM
MN-500 Router
Linksys WUSB54Gv4 adapter

I've resolved this. I turned on wireless tracing via "netsh wlan set
tracing=on" or better yet-Computer Management->Reliability and
Performance->Data Collector Sets->System->Wireless Diagnostics and saw the
entries listed below in the wlan tace file.
So I turned off the autoconfig for the interface via: netsh wlan set
autoconfig enabled=no interface="Wireless Network Connection"

And no more hangs.
