network printers appear offline

Posted: 06-09-2004, 06:03 AM
Hello,

at my windows XP professional computer I do have serval printers installed.
This was done by a mcse company.

but when I log in, all the printers appear offline but it is possible too
print sometimes. But I don't see the print que.

The company did install the printer drivers localy and then they did map a
local port \\servername\printer too the printer at the print server. all
the printers on the computer do use this port. Is it not possible to print
too a local mapped print port or so? Does someone know a solution? Cause
everyday installing the printers again is not the ideal way.

thanks,
Dennis
