Network printers not visible in windows application, only local printers visible.

I have installed a POS program on a mixed network of Win XP & Win 98
machines. I am not able to see any network printers in the application on
some of the XP machines, local attached printers are visible. The Win 98
computers and a couple XP machines work fine. The network printers are in
the list in Control Panel/Printers and faxes. All XP machines are XP pro
with SP1. Anyone come across this problem before? I have tried uninstalling
and reinstalling the printers without any effect. Any suggestions would be
appreciated.
