Network Share and Network Connections

Posted: 06-20-2004, 10:26 AM
I have not shared my C:\ and D:\ (Partitioned Drives) and everytime I reboot
it has reverted back to default share with share name C$ why is it doing
this??

Also have installed a Linksys WAG54G 4 Port Router and have noticed another
icon appearing in Network Connections saying "Internet Connection" my other
3Com router didn't do this and when I right click on the icon it says Enable
and the Status is greyed out an when I tried to enable it nothing happens, I
still get a internet connection ok. I have run the SP-2 RC2 on this pc, my
notebook doesn't have RC2 just SP-1 and shows the "Internet Connection" icon
also but when I click on that one it says Internet --- Internet Gateway ---
My Computer, the properties on this one says "This connection allows you to
connect to the internet through a shared connection on another computer" I
don't need to share any connections as each pc is connected to the 4 port
hub with DHCP enabled.

When I do select "Do not share this folder" and apply it, it
says This share was created for administrative purposes only. The share will
reappear when the Server service is stopped and restarted or the computer is
rebooted. Are you sure you wish to stop sharing C$? YES/NO

The disks are formatted in FAT32

So what on earth is this Internet Connection icon for?
