networking a printer between XP based and 98 based systems

Posted: 10-08-2003, 04:54 AM
Have new computer with XP Pro all set up, working fine.
When I try to network the attached printer (Lexmark Z23)
from a 98 based system using the printer wizard it goes
through all the steps including letting me choose the
printer from the list of network printers, but when I
click on 'finish' it tells me there was a problem and I
need to try again (which doesn't do any good) or contact
the administrator (that hasn't helped yet). Is there any
thing I can do to get a printer networked between these
two systems?
