If you can network the 2 computers you can share the
printer from the priter's properties and use it from
either computer without switching cables.

Works with most printers, but Lexmark admits that printing
across platforms (meaning, for example, XP and W9x) is not
supported. Call Lexmark and ask specifically about the
drivers for the X83.

Can you see the printer across the network? If not, right-click on the
printer in control panel/printers and select sharing - make sure it has
sharing enabled.

What is\f the share box is grayed out and can't be
choosen?
