Networking XP and Vista - Intermittent Connections

Posted: 05-19-2007, 02:42 AM
I recently upgraded from my old Windows XP computer to a new Windows
Vista. I setup a the network between the two computers and after a
little playing around I was able to get it working and was even able to
print from Vista through XP. Then for some reason it quit working.

I have been reading the posts and looking for things I could set, IE.
ports, firewall, missing protocols, etc. But I have been unable to get
the two talk talk to each other again.

I have dumped the following ipconfig and browstat commands from both the
XP and the Vista. If anyone sees something that I can fix please let me
know.

Thank you,

Richard..

Okay, I've downloaded and installed the device on my XP computer. I
don't know if it made any difference. Here is what I have discovered.

If I boot the XP computer first then boot the Vista computer, the Vista
can see the XP, but the XP can never see the Vista.

If I boot the Vista computer first, then book the XP computer, the Vista
never sees the XP and the XP never sees the Vista.

Any other ideas or suggestions on what I can try?

Thank you,

Richard..
