Default Networking XP Machine with Win2000 machine

Hello,

I recently bought a router, and I've been trying to setup
my Home network. My computer has WinXP, and my dad's
computer has Win2000. Both computers are able to access
the internet. However, File Sharing is not setup. My
Dad's computer can access files on my computer, but not
vice versa. When I try to access my dad's computer, a
message pops up saying asking for a password. Even though
I am logged on as administrator on both computers, it
does not allow me to access my dad's computer. When I
tried to install the Network Setup Disk, an error message
pops up saying that setup cannot configure WinXP and
Win2000, only Win95, 98 & ME. Any help would be much
appreciated. Thank you.

There's no need to run the Network Setup Disk. Win2000 is already set
up for networking, as shown by the fact that it can access the
Internet and that it can access WinXP.

Create matching user accounts on both computers: same user name and
same password. That's a requirement for accessing Win2000, but not
for accessing WinXP.

Irvin,

Do both of the Administrators have the same password?
