Are there setting I can change so that my newly burned
CD's will play on older players?

I Believe that when you are using the drag and drop method in My Computer
you can change that setting.

No.

If they're NOT CR-R or CD-RW compatible you're stuffed ! This will happen to
older hifi's and older car CD players. Check the docs that came with the
unit.

Cheers,

I just heard from a friend that sometimes different cd player lasers are not sensitive to some blank cd brands. I have an old memorex cd burned with my pc, and that works fine in my cd player. I was attempting to burn with a verbatim, and it will not play in my cd player. If this is the reason, then maybe I should not be angry with Microsoft, but rather with blank cd manufacturers for not establishing a universal format. Compatability SUCKS!!
