Default No administrator logon

At the welcome screen the only login that I have is
"Irv" system administrator. There is nop password with
it. Is there supposed to be another logon
called "administrator" and also "Guest"? If so, how do
you go about getting to it?
In Windows Explorer, under documents and settings there is
a folder for administrator, but there is no entries under
the desktop, favorites, recent, send to, or my documents.
Can someone enlighten me on this?
Thanks Irv

In Home edition, boot into safe Mode
In Pro, at the welcome screen press Ctl-Alt-Del twice.

the Guest account has to be enabled - it's off by default.

these only appear when you log on for the first time.

OK so the administrator login only appears the first time
you enter window.
I followed your instructions on the Guest acct. and it
appears, but when I try to switch users and select it the
screen goes blank and the the login screen appears again.
Why will it not let me in on the guest acct??
Thanks for the help,

Many policy changes require a restart before they will take effect.
Although guest is a user's account it has special permissions attached to
it. Try restarting, logging on with your user account. Then give the Guest
account another try.

Default Re: No administrator logon

Greetings --

With a retail version of the OS, whenever WinXP is installed on a
computer, only two user accounts are automatically created:
Administrator and Guest. During the installation, WinXP Pro will ask
the installer to designate the Administrator's password, but WinXP
Home will not do so, leaving the password blank by default.

Once any additional user accounts have been created, the
Administrator account will no longer be displayed on the Welcome
Screen. This is a default security feature. By design, the only way
to log into the Administrator account of WinXP Home is to reboot into
Safe Mode. For WinXP Pro, pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL twice at the Welcome
Screen will produce the standard login dialog box.
