no audio (Canon GL1 DV camcorder via IEEE 1394/firewire)

Posted: 01-25-2005, 12:01 AM
I'm able to capture video but no audio. There is no sound at all in the final
movie file, regardless of which format I save the file as (avi, wmv, etc.).
I've tried capturing video recorded with 12bit audio and tried other video
recorded with 16bit, and each time the video captures perfectly but I get no
audio whatsoever in my final file. (I'm not referring to how there's no audio
in the preview, I'm referring to getting no audio in the resulting movie
file.) I'm running Windows XP, using a Canon GL1 DV camcorder, and capturing
via IEEE 1394/firewire. Any suggestions?

Have you tried...
Tools
Audio levels
and adjusted the level to all audio from video?

Or try another input. I had the same problem. I was using Line in. Didn't
work. Tried video. Didn't work. Tried stereo. It worked.

Sorry for the previous "blank" reply.

I was hoping the original question and answers would lead to a solution to
my problem in no audio. I am simply trying to save to file a 'project' but
have added an audio file (mp3) to it. The video (stills) saves, but the
audio track will not save if I try to send it in a e-mail or attach it TO an
e-mail. The file size is too small to indicate the full audio file has saved
with it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Jack

MP3's and MM do not go together, so try a wma/wav file and see if that
helps.
